This page gives a high-level introduction so you can get started without needing to understand every system immediately.
Detailed mechanics, builds, and edge cases are documented elsewhere in the wiki.
We will cover:
From here, the best way to learn is to play.
Use this wiki as a reference when something is unclear, and dive deeper into specific mechanics or locations as needed.
First, you will have to install the client of the game. The client can be acquired from this website. Once you have this installed, you will need to download the Door.DAT file to be able to connect to the server.
After downloading the door.dat and installing the client, locate your Myth War installation folder (By default, it will be located in something like "C:/Program Files (x86)/Mythwar_en"). Drag the Door.DAT file into your installation folder.
To prevent crashes from a certain pet, we will need to download and place an additional file and place this in the npc folder ("C:/Program Files (x86)/Mythwar_en/npc").
If you are interested in getting and installing a patch that includes some QoL features and Quest retranslations, download the patch.
Then, to install the patch:
First, unzip the patch.zip file, then copy your main.exe file into that folder
Second, click and drag the main.exe file onto the apply-patch.bat file
Third, copy your main.exe file back into your Mythwar Installation Folder
This should allow you do launch multiple clients simultaneously and prevent your mouse from snapping to the center of the client. As well as fix some client quest dialogs.
At character creation, you choose one of four classes:
Humans, Mages, Centaurs, and Borgs.
Each class has a male and female variant.
The only gameplay difference between these variants is one class-specific spell.
Control-focused classq
Humans specialize in crowd control and disruption rather than damage.
Humans have access to multiple control spells, with one additional spell determined by gender.
Core Control Spells
Chaos
Works like a confuse effect.
Disables enemy spellcasting and gives enemies a chance to attack their own allies.
Hypnotize
Puts enemies to sleep, preventing them from taking actions.
The effect ends if the target wakes up naturally or takes damage.
Stun
Prevents enemies from taking any actions.
While stunned, enemies are invulnerable and cannot take damage.
Gender-Specific Spell
Male Human – Frailty
A mana-drain spell that reduces an enemy's available mana.
Female Human – Poison
A damage spell with a chance to apply a damage-over-time effect.
Builds
Damage-focused class
Mages are the classic high-damage spellcasters.
They specialize in elemental and dark magic, trading survivability for strong offensive power.
Mages have access to multiple damage spells, with elemental differences between male and female.
Core Damage Spells
Flash
A flash-element damage spell.
Evil
An evil-element damage spell.
Death
Applies a death timer to the target.
When the timer expires, the target dies.
Gender-Specific Spell
Male Mage – Fire
A fire-element damage spell.
Female Mage – Ice
An ice-element damage spell.
Each elemental spell follows its respective elemental interactions and resistances.
Builds
Support / healer class
Centaurs are the primary healers and support class.
They focus on keeping allies alive and mobile rather than dealing damage, and are commonly built with high health to survive while supporting others.
Core Support Spells
Purge Chaos
Cleanses the Chaos effect from friendly targets.
Speed
Increases the movement speed of the target(s).
Heal Other
Heals the target. Despite the name, this spell can also be used to heal yourself.

Female Centaur – Blizzard
A physical attack that can hit more targets than typical Mage spells.
Both attacks:
Builds
Borgs are a durable frontline class focused on survivability, sustain, and damage mitigation.
They excel at standing their ground against powerful enemies and punishing opponents who attack them carelessly.
Borgs can be built in two main ways:
Core Borg Spells
Drain
A damage spell that scales based on the maximum HP of the target.
Extremely effective against bosses and high-HP enemies, but much less useful against normal map monsters with low health.
Repel
Reflects magical damage back to the attacker.
Particularly effective against casters, who often have low HP.
Chaos is not affected by Repel.
Reflect
Reflects physical damage back to the attacker.
Less generally useful than Repel, but effective against strength-based enemies and pets, especially if they land critical hits or combos.
Gender-Specific Buff Spell
Male Borg – Enhance
Increases physical damage, combo rate, and pierce rate/damage.
Primarily useful for melee (strength) Borg builds.
Female Borg – Protect
Increases resistance to all damage types.
Generally more useful and versatile than Enhance.
Builds
Drain Borg
Focuses on maximizing Drain effectiveness against high-HP targets. You will want some AGI to outspeed your mage for maximum damage on Drain
Melee Borg
As you are able to run multiple instances of the game, you will often see people running multiple characters at the same time. The two most common party compositions are:
When you create a new character, you will begin in the Sky Passage.
Here, the newbie guide will walk you through the basics of the game. You will be introduced to several NPCs who explain:
After completing the tutorial, travel to Woodlingor and speak with New Horizon (484, 154).
They will help point you toward your next quests and give you a sense of how to progress further.
At this stage, focus on:
